The Fastest Overhead Scanner Ever

It Triggers Scans Automatically Without a Pedal or Button
Periodically depressing a button or pedal becomes tiring and mentally exhausting after just a few minutes. The xcanex knows exactly when pages are set and captures instantly by itself.
It Captures Instantly
A waiting time of 2 second per scan means 1000 seconds are wasted for 500 captures. The xcanex has negligible waiting time without the erratic capture hesitations typical of auto-capturing systems, or needing pre-scan line projections which cause a delay for every scan.
It Is Immune To Ambient Light
Ambient light destroys scan quality by imposing glare, coloration and shadows. The xcanex has a built-in synchronized flash-shutter system to block ambient light from reaching the image sensor, producing clean and pure content in its original form.
It Flattens Pages Completely, Not Partially
Conventional digital page flattening algorithms either leave error residues or are content sensitive. Multi-dimensional curve correction in the xcanex virtually eliminates all page curvature to produce perfect text sentences and paragraphs.
It Allows Page-Holding Without Tools
Books do not stay open by themselves and typically require the use of page holders or finger attachments that is tiresome and slow. The xcanex allows the intuitive use of bare fingers to hold pages instead of dedicated holders due to its ability to accurately recognize and automatically remove them from scans.
It Integrates with Your Laptop
Without the stand, the xcanex weighs just 7 ounces (200 grams). Mounting it on your laptop makes it the lightest and most space-saving overhead scanner ever. Integration takes only seconds (see demo video below).

Pro Graphics Enhancement
Page curvature presents inevitable shadows that are almost impossible to remove. Conventional software gets rid of them by simply brightening the background but simultaneously erases subtle shades and details in graphics as well, giving you low quality output far from real scans. That prompted us to develop an image recognition algorithm which is able to intelligently differentiate between curvature shadows and graphical content. The effort is justified by the result - beautiful scans of graphics on curved pages never before possible.

NOTE THESE LIMITATIONS
All automatic image processes and page detection applies only to book pages with no edge-printing (i.e. no ink printed at the top and bottom edges of page) - we are still working on this.
The xcanex bookscanner does not run on the Linux OS, and was never tested on any virtual platforms (e.g. VirtualBox running Windows) on top of the Linux OS.
Dual-page simultaneous capture supports only books measuring 6 x 9 inches or smaller (W x H when closed). Single-page capture supports books measuring 9 x 12 inches or smaller. Does not support scanning of books larger than 9 x 12 inches.
Attachment to laptops is possible only on screens with height equal or in between 8.5 to 11 inches (vertical).
* All timing measurements were made on an average spec, year-2015 laptop with Intel i5 processor, 4 GB RAM. Measurements are averages of multiple samples taken during typical usage conditions. Performance may vary reasonably with scan subject and computer environment (e.g. other software/anti-virus running concurrently, hard-disk condition, page size and content, power saving/security settings).
